Dale Jr Announces Retirement
Welcome back once again for a quick update on the big story of the week. If you haven't heard already or if you've been under a rock, Dale Earnhardt Jr announced his retirement at the end of the 2017 season. Earnhardt is competing in his 18th season of Monster Energy Cup racing and made his debut in 1999. His first full season was completed in 2000. Earnhardt has had plenty of health problems with multiple concussions over the years, with the most recent sidelining him for the last part of 2016. He stated that he was proud that he was able to go on his own terms. I do wish him the best after the end of the season and I thank him for all he has done for the sport. It'll be different not seeing him on the track, but hopefully a young driver will take his seat and make the #88 car competitive. I have a feeling Alex Bowman will be a big candidate to take Earnhardt's seat after substituting for Jr last year. Just my prediction. That is all for now. I hope you enjoyed. Goodnight everyone.
